Hello friends,
I'm not talking about Facebook here from a while. I think I should now.
I saw an update from one of my friend and recognized without clicking that it’s a new Facebook Scam.
The scam says the following signature message:
OMG CHECK OUT THIS?
[Video] WOW.. watch what Happened to his Ex Girlfriend!!
4lainsdkasda.blogspot.com
[Video] Omg. I cant believe this actually happened to his Ex-Girlfreind
The picture was a little objectionable, so I censored (kind of) it.
Clicking on this link will take you to a Facebook page which would be asking for a plugin to play the video, like below:
So you just need to install the plugin to play the video. BUT WAIT!!!
I'm going to show you something. See the image below.
When I clicked on the link I saw this page. Looks like a Facebook pretty much. But see the address bar. It's showing a BLOG address. And I noticed none of the links work, there.
TIP: Always, keep your eye on the address bar especially when surfing on Facebook. Use a separate browser for Facebook.
Ok. Now when I reached here and was ready to get the images for this post. I thought, it'd be much better to use a different browser. So I copied the link and moved to another browser and clicked on the 'Install Plugin' button. It was an unauthorized plugin. I got warning before installation. Then I refreshed my page (I was redirected to another page) and a video flickered for one or two second (video of two girls, bathing) then a box poped out. The YouTube video player was not original, even. It was just made to look like YouTube. What a good web-page designer? See the image below
Same old spammers trick - Complete a survey to unlock this page!!
I've told many times in my previous Facebook scam alert article that these surveys are just a way to take your personal information indirectly which can be used later for spammy emails and offers.
One more refresh gave me the following page:
Isn't cute? But may be, she's giving you malware. See the address bar this time the address is different.
What you can do to stop this scam?
#1) Mark is as spam if you see this on your wall. Ask your friend to clear cookies, cache of his or her browser. Report to Facebook.
#2) Report these spam blogs to Google HERE. (Please do not use this link to report blogs unnecessarily. Google is not a fool.)

Google have already removed them from indexing.

I have been asked about this many times on Facebook and email as well.
For those, already know how to change your settings for this, Fine , Good. For users not aware of facebook settings much a tutorial is given below.
Tutorial for how to change your wall settings?
1.) Have a look to the top-right corner of your facebook window. Click on the small arrow pointing to downward. And go to your Privacy Settings.
2.) Now you will see your privacy settings control panel. Here click on Edit settings for " How you connect? ". See the image below:
3.) In these settings you will find different settings to manage how people connect with you like who can send you Message, Request and more. Look out for the settings which says " Who can post on your Timeline/Wall? ". Click on the button and change the settings to "Only me" from " Friends ".
How To Get Rid Of Scams on my wall ?
One and may be the only solution for this which i think is to alter facebook wall settings. The default settings on facebook for " Who can post on your Timeline/ Wall? " is friends. Simply we have to change it to "Only Me". So that others cannot post any updates (Scammy Links) on our wall. This will not hide our updates from other. Just other applications and people will not be able to post any link or update on your wall ( Including those scammers and their applications). I don't think it will make any difference except you have a birthday.

Another tip which you can use is to enable Secure Browsing.
- Go to Account settings.
- Click on Security in the left sidebar.
- Edit the first option, ✔ check "Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) when possible".
- Save it.
I hope this helps you in getting rid of scams and enhance your SAFE facebook experience.
Note: It cannot be assured that you will not get scammy links after implementing above two tips. At least it is a good option to give them minimum chances.

This is nothing but just a scam to enter into your computer.Clicking on think link will show you a popup message asking for a security check before watching this video,and ask you to click on continue
anyways moving forward,after clicking on continue it will show you to to follow some instructions like below

These messages are showed on facebook walls so that the readers get attracted to click on them to know the complete story.Whenever someone clicks on the link he/she is redirected to a page something like following
Now whoever wishes to see RIHANNA like this clicks on the play button and firstly will be asked to share this video on your social networks, most of the times clicking on the play button automatically u pdates your account with a like associated to the video,sometimes with comments also.
After that the targeted users is prompted to complete some surveys before watching the video.Something like below
These surveys are just to get your personal information and sometimes hack your accounts or computer for critical informations.
Immediately mark this update as spam if you see this from your friends updates.
